I have a question, when you send your clients the images to select through the beautiful Squarespace gallery, how do you know which ones they selected? Does it automatically go in a folder? Does it show up or they have to tell you by email because that is one step I do not want to deal with. I don’t want them to say example, “the third image down” or “ image DSF_12345” how do you know which ones they selected?

These ideas were brilliant. My camera (Cannon 500D eos) doesn't have a phone connect app, so whenever I want to shoot a self-portrait, I put a huge mirror behind it and this way I can check photos through reflection!

A question that has challenged me since starting out in stock photography - using images with friends/family in them because is there some sort of etiquette about paying them if an image sells (which realistically may be a rather small amount) or how to answer their concerns about how an image might be used that could embarrass/offend them? So far everything I have submitted is either a back view of people or they are too small in the frame to be recognisible.

Love this. Really hope Luminar eventually allows presets like yours from Luminar. I left Adobe after the subscription thing. Tried many app including Capture one and all the usual suspects. Luminar AI was good but Neo has taken it to a level truly allowable for photographers.

I stick to my iPad Pro, Lightroom and my Apple Pencil. Way more effective and easier to take with me. But if you like these devices I would recommend going to Streamdeck the Lightroom Adddon is way more effective.

As a beginner in photo editing, I've been using Luminar Neo for a few months now (thanks to Laura's suggestion, and I used her link, so I hope she got something). It's really intuitive and easy to use to start with. The more I use it the more I work out how to use the more advanced tools. It does everything I could want without too much fidgeting around. I was weighing up getting Lightroom as well. Now that Adobe if holding their customers photos hostage unless they agree to new TOC, I'll be happily sticking to Luminar. I would just point out that its always better to first edit using the Develop Raw tool first (if you shot in Raw) because it's non-destructive editing that you can't use after applying other non-raw tools. I been using Luminar Neo for a couple months and has truly transformed my photography.

Wonderful video Laura. Purchased it 2-3 weeks ago. You should do a paid Luminar video tutorials. I would sign up for it. I have still not used it but this weekend will be using it 🙂

I like this! I mostly do landscapes and have been using lightroom, and yes it's super easy to over edit, but now I'm starting to learn portrait photography

I still don't get it. Supposedly "professionaly" edited photos are better. But they always look washed out, lifeless and greenish or teal. As if these "moody" scenes look depressing. I prefer vivid colors and sharpness, of course not too exaggerated. I guess it's just me and I'll have to adjust to the "professional" look/style. Always good videos Laura. Thanks!

You are little late :) ... I've made a switch 3 years a go from Canon RF system and never looked back. Sony is by far better in any regards except that I like Canon ergonomics little more. Cheers.

Me encuentro en la misma situación… a7r v viniendo de una canon 5d iv. La verdad que la resolución es increíble y no me arrepiento tampoco. Las lentes son increíbles, el visor… pero también hay cosas donde he perdido con el cambio. Primero en ergonomía, en sony es terrible. Segundo en gestión de ruido a isos altos, y especialmente en levantar sombras. Y algo que me molesta menos pero que está ahí es en la luminosidad de la pantalla (fatal comparado con la pantalla de la 5d en días soleados) y el enfoque con poca luz también sensiblemente peor, peeero supongo que no se puede tener todo 😅
